D'Wildcat wins the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash.
Windfields Farm in Canada has purchased a half-interest in grade I winner D'wildcat from David Shimmon and William Bianco's Fog City Stable. The purchase is for both racing and breeding purposes and calls for D'wildcat to enter stud in 2004 at Windfields near Oshawa, Ontario. Windfields was founded by E.P. Taylor, and once was the home for Northern Dancer.

D'wildcat, who has earned $560,044, will remain with trainer Bob Hess Jr. He is scheduled to run next in the Jan. 26 Palos Verdes Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita.

Five-year-old D'wildcat is coming off his best season. He won the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (gr. I) and the Churchill Downs Handicap (gr. II), plus the Live the Dream Handicap on grass. In 2001. he captured the Swale Stakes (gr. III).

Shimmon bought D'wildcat (Forest Wildcat -- D'Enough, by D'Accord) for $600,000 at the 2000 Ocala Breeders' Sales Company March sale of 2-year-olds in training. Bred by Eb Novak's New Farm, D'wildcat has won five of 14 races.
