A half sister to Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Plum Pretty is entered in the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training in Timonium, Md., May 23 and 24. The Scat Daddy filly is Hip No. 146 in the auction’s catalog.
Consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent, and a member of her sire’s first crop, Plum Pretty’s half sister is scheduled to go through the sale ring on the auction’s first day. Michael J. Trombetta purchased her for $22,500 from Walnut Green, agent, at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Eastern fall yearling sale.
“When Plum Pretty won the Sunland Park Oaks in late March, we felt the timing would be right to take the half sister to Timonium,” Niall Brennan said. “The Kentucky Oaks was a huge bonus. This 2-year-old filly has been coming along steadily. She’s breezed a couple of times to our liking and she’s ready for the under tack show on May 18.”
Walnut Green is scheduled to offer Plum Pretty’s yearling half sister by Dixie Union at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling auction this summer.
“Plum Pretty was not a precocious yearling and she did more of her developing in the winter and spring of her yearling and 2-year-old year,” said Walnut Green managing partner Mark Reid. “This Dixie Union filly is gorgeous and, like Plum Pretty (by Medaglia d’Oro), she is by a sire well-respected for his fillies.”
The Saratoga auction is scheduled for Aug. 8 and 9 in New York.
Plum Pretty and her siblings all were bred by Silent Indy Stables and DDS Stables. They are out of the A.P. Indy mare Liszy.
