Kafwain, shown winning the Norfolk, worked Friday.
(from track report)
Kafwain, second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) last Oct. 26, worked six furlongs Friday in a bullet 1:10 flat, fastest of 29 workouts at the distance.

Dana Barnes was aboard.

"He worked nice," trainer Bob Baffert said. "He went easy early and he kicked home nice. We're probably going to point him to the San Vicente (gr. II Feb. 1 at seven furlongs)."

Composure, second to Storm Flag Flying in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), also worked six furlongs for Baffert, going in 1:12.60.

Bruce Headley waxed poetic over Kona Gold's five furlong workout in :58.60 for the Jan. 26 Palos Verdes Handicap (gr. II).

"He went like a soft summer breeze," the trainer said of the 9-year-old son of Java Gold.
