Jockey Jason Lumpkins, who moved his tack to Kentucky in mid-November after a successful run on Northern California circuit, has caught fire at Turfway Park after a slow start.

He became just the twelfth rider in Turfway Park's history to win five races on one card Jan. 12. Three of those wins were for trainer Vickie Foley, including the talented Tito's Beau, who was making his 3-year-old debut in a 1 1/16-mile allowance race.

Lumpkins, who was ranked 14th nationally with 258 wins last year, leads the Turfway Park standings through Jan. 16 with nine wins, three more than Dean Butler.
