Stallion Switch In Time Dies in Australia

Prolific sire Switch In Time died at stud in Queensland following a prolonged bout of pneumonia. The 20-year-old import by Kris was transferred to Queensland last year after making his name as one of Australia's leading sires at Stratheden Stud at Tamworth.
Switch In Time set several records during his stud career that to date has seen him represented by 349 individual winners of 1660 races for earnings of $14.4 million.
He has been the leading sire in New South Wales by wins for the past seven years, siring winners of more than 100 races and $1 million in prize money each season. In 1996-97, he was represented by the winners of 220 races, a record for a NSW-based sire.
Switch In Time raced in the U.S. before he was shipped to Australia to begin his stud career. His notable winners have included group and other stakes performers Sword, Border Time, King Of Acapulco, Music Switch, Transfer, Heeby Reiby and King Leopold. Other good winners by Switch In Time have included Horology, Sectional Time, Deferred, Steelswitch, Kylangi, Full Switch, Never Late and Strathpark.
