Grade II stakes-placed The Trader's Echo will stand at A & A Horse Ranch near Anthony, N.M., for owners Ron and Joe Allen for a fee of $1,000. A 9-year-old son of Eastern Echo out of the Devil's Bag's mare Cathy's Halo, The Trader's Echo set a track-record of 1:14.82 for 6 1/2 furlongs at Keeneland in one of his five wins from a dozen starts. He ran second behind Yes It's True in the Maryland Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III) and was third behind runner-up Artax in the True North Handicap (gr. II). He earned $233,357. His second dam, stakes winner Blushing Cathy, is a daughter of prominent producer The Garden Club.
