Robert N. Clay's Three Chimneys Farm announced the arrival of Albert the Great's first foal, a bay colt out of Bessiepunkindo (by Lion d'Or). The colt was foaled Jan. 10 at the Brooks family's Windmill Farm near Versailles, Ky. Bessiepunkindo is a stakes-placed winner of $292,442 and is the dam of stakes winner Lil Punkindo. The mare and foal are owned by Donna Wormser.
Three Chimneys president Dan Rosenberg described the youngster as, "a really nice colt. He is very attractive, and very correct. He has a good shoulder, nice head, and good bone."
Albert the Great (Go for Gin -- Bright Feather, by Fappiano) scored his big win in the 2000 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) and earned a career total of $3,012,490. He stands at Three Chimneys near Midway, Ky.
