New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg re-appointed David Cornstein as chair of the Off Track Betting Corp. (OTB) on Jan. 10. Cornstein was first appointed to the board in 1994.
Cornstein was appointed by New York Gov. George Pataki as chairman of the New York State Olympic Games Commission and was nominated and confirmed to serve as director on the Battery Park City Authority. Cornstein previously was vice chairman of the Economic Development Corp. of New York City and has served on the New York State Council on State Productivity.
Cornstein also served as president and CEO of Finlay Enterprises, a publicly traded fine jewelry company based in New York.
"David Cornstein has done an outstanding job returning OTB to profitability as well as maintaining its superlative reputation for integrity in the racing world," Bloomberg said. "He is a shrewd businessman, a racing enthusiast, and an asset to our city and state."
