Hip 63 sold for $1.2 Million Dollars at the Keeneland September Sale.

A colt by Street Cry was purchased by prominent owner George Bolton for $1.2 million during the Sept. 11 first session of the Keeneland September yearling sale. The colt, out of graded stakes winner Forest Music, was consigned by Gainesway, agent for breeder Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings.

Bolton, who races some horses in partnership with Stonestreet, was not in attendance at the sale in Lexington and made his winning bid via telephone through Keeneland account executive Mark Maronde.

The colt was produced from the grade II-winning Unbridled's Song mare Forest Music.

Gainesway’s Michael Hernon said the final price exceeded expectations.

“I am blown away,” Hernon said. “That was well beyond our expectations, not to say that it was unrealistic. He was a super nice looking horse. He’s very well related, he is out of a major running mare. He is super athletic and he’s by a top stallion. This is the sort of thing that can happen here at Keeneland. “
