Robby Albarado had his clock working Sunday at Fair Grounds.

Albarado galloped Royal Spy through slow early fractions and saved enough in the tank to post a one-length win over Dynameaux in the $75,000 Col. E.R. Bradley Handicap on the turf.

Owned by Kalarikkal and Vilasini Jayaraman and trained by Tom Amoss, Royal Spy flanked pacesetter Astrologist through fractions of :24.81 for the first quarter and :50.67 for the half-mile. Royal Spy opened up by 1 1/2 length in the stretch and finished the about a 1 1/16 mile distance in 1:45.25.

Said Albarado, who picked up his fourth win in the last seven runnings of the Bradley: "I knew I would dictate the race. When I called on him, he had something left and he held off a good bunch of horses today."

The multiple stakes winning son of Peteski upped his bankroll to $460,995 from 19 starts, including eight wins and three third-place finishes.

Royal Spy returned $12.60, $8.20, and $5.80 in the 11-horse field. Dynameaux prevailed in a tight photo finish with Freefourinternet for second. Green Fee, the 6-5 favorite, finished fifth.
