The Thoroughbred Corp.'s Kafwain, runner-up in the Dec. 15 Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) before a bumping incident with rival Coax Kid caused him to be disqualified and placed fourth for interference, worked three furlongs in :36 2/5, breezing, at Santa Anita Sunday morning.

Trainer Bob Baffert considered it mostly a maintenance breeze for the colt, who will likely turn up in one of Santa Anita's upcoming Triple Crown preps for his next start, although a final decision has yet to be made.

"I'm still so mad about (the disqualification)," Baffert said.

Kafwain's Baffert-trained stablemate, Padua Stables' Composure, a disappointing second in the Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) as the heavy favorite in her last start, went a half-mile in :47 2/5, handily.

"She's going to run in the 'Las Something'," Baffert joked, referring to the Feb. 9 Las Virgenes Stakes (gr. I) and the Spanish-style stakes names common in Southern California.
