Jockey Jeremy Beasley was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood for observation and evaluation Thursday afternoon after falling from his mount, Wild Cyrina, in the third race at Calder.
Wild Cyrina stumbled leaving the starting gate, pitching Beasley over her head. Beasley hit the ground head first, but was conscious and alert and able to walk to the outside rail with the assistance of an emergency medical technician and members of the gate crew. Wild Cyrina was unharmed in the incident.
