Seattle Dancer Sold to German Syndicate

Seattle Dancer, a half-brother to champion Seattle Slew who sold for a record $13.1 million as a yearling, has been purchased by a German syndicate for stallion duty at Gestut Auenquelle, according to the Racing Post. The 19-year-old son of Nijinsky out of the Poker mare My Charmer previously stood in Japan.

Seattle Dancer was bred in Kentucky by Warner L. Jones Jr., William S. Farish, and William Kilroy, and was bought at the 1985 Keeneland July sale for $13.1 million by the English branch of the British Bloodstock Agency. He raced in the colors of Stavros Niarchos for trainer Vincent O'Brien and won two Irish group II events and was group I-placed in France.

Seattle Dancer entered stud at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky., in 1988, and later stood at Coolmore Stud in Ireland before ending up at East Stud in Japan for the 1997 breeding season. He has sired 34 stakes winners, including German champion and dual classic winner Que Belle and other German classic winner Rose of Zollern.
