Edited release from Calder
Trainer Christophe Clement has made quite an impression in the Tropical-at-Calder turf stakes the last decade and none more so than the $200,000 La Prevoyante Handicap (gr. II) for fillies and mares at 1 ½ miles on turf. The race is one of four stakes with a total $600,000 in purses on the Grand Slam II program at Calder Racecourse on Saturday.

Clement has won past renewals with Sardaniya, Trampoli and Coretta (twice) and has entered Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum's Mot Juste with Bailey aboard and Skymarc Stable's Julie Jalouse under Santos.

Gary Tanaka's German-bred and raced 3-year-old filly Uriah will be among the ones to beat under jockey Norberto Arroyo. Trained in Germany by Haro Remmert, the daughter of Acatenango invaded New York in mid-November to post a mild upset in the Long Island Handicap (gr. II). Mot Juste finished a close-up third.

Completing the body of the overflow field are Kathy K D, Amelia, Jennasietta, Sunscreen, New Economy, Tweedside, Stay Forever, Nepenthe and Queue. Sigana will be the lone also-eligible.
