Excellent Meeting, new acquisition by Brushwood Stable, will be bred to Storm Cat in 2001.
Pennsylvania breeder-owner Elizabeth Moran privately purchased millionaire Excellent Meeting from John and Betty Mabee and announced that the 4-year-old Seattle Slew granddaughter would be bred to leading sire Storm Cat in 2001. Excellent Meeting, who won seven graded stakes while racing as a homebred for the Mabees, was retired in August after failing to win in four starts this year.

"Mrs. Moran is thrilled to have a broodmare like Excellent Meeting in her broodmare band," said Mona Phillips, who is office manager of Moran's Brushwood Stable.

Excellent Meeting (General Meeting--Fitted Crown, by Chief's Crown) won eight of 20 races and earned $1,402,396. Her grade I wins came in the Santa Anita Oaks and the Hollywood Starlet, Oak Leaf, and Las Virgenes Stakes, and her grade I stakes-placing came in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, plus the Vanity and Milady Breeders' Cup Handicaps.

Moran boards Excellent Meeting at Indian Hill Farm, a division of Eaton Farms, near Lexington.

More information on Excellent Meeting's career can be found in the Aug. 26 issue of The Blood-Horse, page 4999.
