Record-Holder Mountain General In Gaudin

Mountain General makes his first start since his track-record performance in the Thanksgiving Handicap in Sunday's $75,000 F.W. Gaudin Memorial Handicap at Fair Grounds.

Owned by Keith Asmussen, Mountain General set the track record of 1:08.03 for six furlongs in his last start.

Since then, Mountain General has posted two average works at a half-mile for trainer Steve Asmussen, the nation's leading trainer through Thursday with 389 victories. Mountain General is the 121-pound high weight in the field of six under Corey Lanerie.

Behind Mountain General in the Thanksgiving Handicap were Gracie's Dancer and Wild Summer. Wild Summer was placed second in the race following the disqualification of Gracie's Dancer.

Gracie's Dancer and Wild Summer will each carry 116 pounds.
