The 10-race card Jan. 13 at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course has been canceled due to extreme weather conditions.

“Central Pennsylvania is experiencing violent winds with gusts approaching 50 and 60 mph and the decision was made to cancel tonight’s program in the best safety interest of the horses and riders,"  said Mark Loewe, vice president of racing.

The track plans to resume action Jan. 14, with the program getting underway at 6 p.m. EST. The condition book originally called for nine races, but a 10th was added due to the overwhelming number of entries.
