Dat You Miz Blue Retired; Going to Chief Seattle

Cynthia Knight's Dat You Miz Blue, who beat champion Xtra Heat in the Dec. 14 Garland of Roses Handicap at Aqueduct, has been retired from racing with a record of 14 wins from 33 starts and $806,291 in earnings. The 5-year-old Cure the Blues mare is scheduled to be sent to Bruce Kline and partners' Spendthrift Farm near Lexington and be bred to Chief Seattle (by Seattle Slew) at the farm.
Dat You Miz Blue, who was produced from the Wild Again mare Emma Loves Marie, initially raced as a homebred for Knight's late husband, Landon. She captured a total of seven stakes, including the 2001 Vagrancy Handicap (gr. III), and placed in 10 others. Bill Badgett Jr. trained her at two and Jimmy Jerkens the remainder of her career,
