Diamond A Racing Corporation's Pleasantly Perfect, on a stakes path for the Santa Anita Handicap March 1, worked four furlongs in :48 2/5 handily over the Arcadia track Wednesday.

Trainer Richard Mandella's charge turned in the 9th best work of 29 at the distance over a track rated "good."

The 4-year-old colt by Pleasant Colony won the Goodwood Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita Oct. 6 impressively by more than three lengths over Momentum. Pleasantly Perfect was considered a leading candidate for the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. i) at Arlington Park Oct. 26, but was not permitted to run because of an Illinois bleeders' rule.

Also Wednesday at Santa Anita, the Jenine Sahadi-trained 2-year-old filly Puxa Saco, winner of the Moccasin Stakes at Hollywood Nov. 16, worked five furlongs on a good track in :59 handily, 2nd of 39 at the distance.

Debonair Joe, recent winner of the Vernon O. Underwood Handicap (gr. III) at Hollywood, worked five furlongs at Santa Anita in 1:02 3/5.
