Sellers Begins Three-Race Win Streak in Breeders' Futurity

Using an impressive burst of speed on the second turn, Arabian Light rallied from far back to win the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. II) by three lengths Sunday at Keeneland. Dollar Bill closed from the back of the pack to finish second, a head in front of Holiday Thunder. Futurity Stakes (gr. I) winner Burning Roma was another head back in fourth, five lengths ahead of Cradle Stakes winner Mongoose. Meetyouatthebrig finished sixth, followed by Starbury, Clever Throne, Spectacular Cat, and Unbridled Time.
On a fast track, Arabian Light completed the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.18 under jockey Shane Sellers. Sellers would go on to ride the next two winners at Keeneland, winning aboard 25-1 Collect the Cash in the featured race, and on 17-1 Kim Loves Bucky in an allowance race.
The Thoroughbred Corp.'s Arabian Light is a 2-year-old son of Fly So Free trained by Bob Baffert, who saddled the winner of this race last year with another son of Fly So Free, Captain Steve. Arabian Light earned $279,744 for the win, his third in four career starts. He was bred in California by Kenneth Reinsch.
Arabian Light paid $5.40, $4.20, and $3.20. Dollar Bill, coupled in the wagering with Mongoose, returned $4.60 and $4. Holiday Thunder was worth $5 to show. (Chart, Equibase
