Public Affairs VP Leaves Churchill

Continuing the executive shakeup at Churchill Downs Inc., vice president of public affairs Frank Jemley is leaving the company at the end of the year to begin a lobbying firm. Churchill Downs will b a client.

The Louisville Courier-Journal reports Jemley disclosed the move Tuesday. It comes one day after several internal changes were announced by CDI, including the resignation of executive vice president Robert Decker.

Jemley plans to represent clients in Frankfort and Washington D.C. Churchill Downs is in the process of developing lobbying efforts for its push to legalize slot machines at racetracks during the 2003 Kentucky General Assembly.

"It's a great situation and we wish him nothing but the best," said Alex Waldrop, vice president of public affairs for CDI. "He's been a vital part of our team for more than four years."
