With the National Weather Service forecasting a winter storm that could dump up to 8 inches of snow on the East Coast, many of the region's racetracks cancelled live and simulcast racing Thursday.

The first tracks to cancel both live and simulcast wagering were Aqueduct in New York, Laurel Park in Maryland, and Charles Town in West Virginia. Simulcasting was also cancelled at Laurel's sister track, Pimlico.

Penn National Racetrack, which races a night card, also cancelled racing for Thursday, with live racing scheduled to resume Friday.

Meadowlands cancelled its night Standardbred live racing card and all simulcasting for Thursday.
