Century City, who finished eighth in a field of nine as the 2-1 favorite in the Hollywood Derby (gr. IT), is switching from the turf to dirt for his next race.
"We're going to try some blinkers and aim for the Malibu (gr. I)," said trainer Beau Greely Wednesday. The Malibu is a seven-furlong stake for 3-year-olds opening day at Santa Anita Dec. 26.
"He won graded stakes from seven furlongs to a mile in Europe," Greely noted. "We will work him on the main track and see. He coughed going to the gate Sunday but maybe it was just his tongue-tie bothering him because he came back good. We tested him, and his blood looks good."
