Cat Genius and Ten Cents A Shine Prep for Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes

A pair of unbeaten contenders for Saturday's $250,000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs, Cat Genius and Ten Cents A Shine, turned in their final pre-race works on Tuesday.
Cat Genius, winner of the Oct. 25 Gilded Times Stakes, breezed five furlongs in 1:04.40 for trainer Tom Amoss. The son of Western Cat is unbeaten in three races, including his back-type score. He has won his three races by a combined margin of 27 lengths.
Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Ten Cents A Shine breezed four furlongs in :49.60 under jockey Shane Sellers, who will ride the Ohio-bred son of Devil His Due in Saturday's 1 1/16-mile race. Ten Cents A Shine rallied from 11th to win his seven-furlong debut on Nov. 2 by 1 1/4-lengths.
In other Jockey Club developments reported by Churchill Downs, Lloyd Madison Farm's Champali, the unbeaten winner of the Iroquois Stakes (gr. II) for trainer Greg Foley, is still searching for a jockey. Regular rider Pat Day will be at Hollywood Park on Saturday to ride Firecracker Breeders' Cup (gr. II) winner Good Journey in the $500,000 Citation Handicap.
Tracy Farmer's Holiday Lady went five furlongs Tuesday in preparation for Saturday's $200,000 Golden Rod (gr. II). The Nick Zito-trained daughter of Deputy Commander covered the distance in 1:00.60 over a fast track.
