Holiday Feast of Racing Scheduled on TVG

Viewers of the Television Games Network (TVG) can expect a real horseracing feast this Thanksgiving Holiday weekend as the network will present nine graded stakes races from the West to East Coast. Included are three grade I races, three grade II events and three grade III features, with live racing action from Hollywood Park, Churchill Downs, and Aqueduct.

The horseracing network will offer the $250,000 Falls City Handicap (gr. II) from Churchill Downs on Thursday. Heading the Falls City field is the Kenny McPeek-trained Take Charge Lady, a multiple grade I winner. Expected challengers include Allamerican Bertie, Softly, Printemps, Lady Shari, Due to Win, and With Ability.

The Falls City will be simulcast on a special edition of TVG's Fox Sports New program, airing from 3-6 p.m. (EST).

The Clark Handicap (gr. II) at Churchill highlights the Friday card. The expected favorite in the 1 1/8-mile race is California-invader Lido Palace. Others expected are Dollar Bill, Tenpins, and Perfect Drift, among others.

Hollywood Park's three-day Autumn Turf Festival also kicks off Friday with the Miesque (gr. IIIT) and the Hollywood Turf Express.

Saturday will feature the $350,000 Cigar Mile (gr. I) at Aqueduct, which features a strong pack of 3-year-olds. Expected to start are Crafty C.T., Bonapaw, Harlan's Holiday, Red Bullet, Congaree, Aldebarab, Burning Roma, Multiple Choice, Windsor Castle, Nothing Flat, and Resolve.

The weekend comes an end Sunday with a pair of grade I events, the $500,000 Hollywood Derby (gr. IT) and the $500,000 Matriarch, both run at 1 1/8 miles.

Expected to compete in the Hollywood Derby are Johar, Inesperado, Royal Gem, Century City, Manaman McLir, Music's Storm, Rock Opera, Surprized, and Union Palace. The Matriarch features Golden Apples, Banks Hill, Tates Creek, Affluent, Tout Charmant, Choc Ice, and Dress to Thrill.
