Ryan Fogelsonger rode four winners on Saturday's card and increased his lead in the Laurel Park fall meet and national apprentice standings.

Fogelsonger scored in the first (Stormin' Down, $7.80), second (Capt. Defrere, $16.60), fourth (Frosty Alibhai, $6.20) and ninth (Kalens Jet, $4.40).

In the first seven weeks of the fall meeting, the 21-year old has 64 wins, 24 more than Horatio Karamanos. He won the recently completed Pimlico summer/fall meet by a staggering 27 trips to the winners' circle.

"It is going to get harder with Delaware shutting down and three of their top four riders are here full-time," added Fogelsonger, who has at least one win in 33 of the first 35 days of the fall stand.

The Silver Spring, MD native now has 228 wins this year with earnings of $3.8 million. His closest competitors for the Eclipse Award as top apprentice appears to be Northern California's Francisco Duran (176 wins & 2.7 million in earnings) and Kentucky-based John McKee (163 wins & 1.7 million in earnings).

"It's only natural to think about it," added Fogelsonger. "Everyone is talking about it and publicity is coming in. Right now I lead in wins, winning percentage and purses so hopefully we can keep it going the last five weeks of the year."
