Jostle heads the $200,000 Cotillion Handicap (gr. II) at Philadelphia Park Saturday. The 3-year-old daughter of Brocco will face seven other sophomore fillies as the 124 pound highweight, conceding from eight to 13 pounds to her rivals in the 1 1/16-mile race.
Fox Hills Farms' Jostle is using the Cotillion as a prep for the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) and comes into Saturday's race following two consecutive graded stakes wins. In August, she won the 1 1/4-mile Alabama Stakes (gr. I) by 3 3/4 lengths over Secret Status after winning the 1 1/2-mile Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I) by 3 1/4 lengths.
Lorie Darlin won the National Jockey Club Oaks, but Wayne Lyster's homebred has been held winless since that April race. She finished fourth in the Monmouth Breeders' Cup Oaks (gr. II) in July before finishing eighth in the Pennsylvania Oaks last month.
The field for the Cotillion, with jockeys and weights, will consist of:
1--Rochelle's Terms, no rider named, 111
2--Casting Cinema, no rider named, 112
3--Jostle, Mike Smith, 124
4--Prized Stamp, Rick Wilson, 114
5--Lorie Darlin, Joe Bravo, 113
6--Chickasaw, Anthony D'Amico, 116
7--Crown of Crimson, Jose C. Ferrer, 113
8--Gold for My Gal, Pedro Rodriguez, 112
