A colt by Danehill Dancer brought the top price of 41,000 euros (approximately $41,340) Tuesday during the first session of the Goffs November foal sale in Ireland. Pinhooker Tim Hyde purchased the bay weanling from Ballyhampshire Stud, agent. The colt was produced from the 7-year-old Tirol mare Alpine Lady.
The Racing Post reported that the average price for all the horses sold was 9,097 euros ($9,173), up 20% from last year. According to the Post, no less than 106 of the 235 foals that went through the ring failed to find new homes.
