Sunstrach, with Frankie Dettori riding, cruised to an emphatic six-length victory in the Italian Group I Premio Roma at Rome's Capannele on Sunday.

Scuderia Rencati's 4-year-old son of Polar Falcon, trained in Italy by Emilio Borromeo, took the lead from Blu For Life three furlongs from home, drew off and was eased home in the 1/14-mile stakes for 3-year-olds. The race was contested in heavy rain on a good to soft course. Blu For Life was second, two lengths clear of Wellbeing.

Dettori rides dual Italian Group I winner Falbrav in the Japan Cup in Nakayama on Sunday.

Falbrav, trained by Luciano d'Auria, disappointed in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October, finishing ninth.
