Good Journey Aims for Citation Repeat

Good Journey, one of the leading turf milers in the nation, will defend honors in the $500,000 Citation Handicap (gr. IIT) at Hollywood Park Nov. 30, trainer Wally Dollase said. A key component of the $2.1-million Turf Festival, the Citation will be run at 1 1/16 miles on grass."He's been doing great since he came back from the Breeders' Cup," said Dollase of the 6-year-old horse, who finished a strong third behind Domedriver and Rock of Gibraltar in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). Pat Day has the call back.Good Journey beat Decarchy by a half-length on a rain-softened turf course in the Citation last year and won his first three outings this year before the Breeders' Cup.Dollase also said that he planned to start Mananan McLir, third-place finisher in the Oak Tree Derby (gr. IIT), in the $500,000 Hollywood Derby (gr. IT) Dec. 1. Dollase won the race with champion Itsallgreektome in 1990.
