Polish Miner, a graded stakes-placed son of Danzig, will enter stud in 2003 at Richard Golden, Dr. Tom Bowman, and Allaire du Pont's Northview Stallion Station near Chesapeake City, Md. His fee will be $3,500.
Polish Miner (Danzig -- Miner's Game, by Mr. Prospector) was bred by Phipps Stable and raced for Ogden Mills Phipps. The 5-year-old horse won four of 29 starts and placed in five stakes. He earned $335,646. His most recent race was the Nov. 2 Knickerbocker Handicap (gr. II), in which he finished third. He was trained by Shug McGaughey.
As a 2-year-old, Polish Miner ran second in the Nashua Stakes (gr. III), then was beaten just a neck when third in the grade II Remsen Stakes.
Polish Miner's dam, Miner's Game, is a full sister to major winner and sire Seeking the Gold.
