Numbers Improve at Louisiana Downs

Louisiana Downs concluded its 80-day meet Sunday with across-the-board increases in attendance and wagering.

The Bossier City, La. Oval reported attendance rose 5.56% to average 3,542 per day. Average daily on-track handle of $228,217 represented a 7.52% gain, with average daily off-track betting up 9.23% to $2,072,590.

"It was a solid meet," vice president and general manager Ray Tromba said. "Our fans showed their appreciation for the improved racing product, and we are looking forward to the 2003 meet with great anticipation."
