Broodmare Brings $200,000 at Keeneland

A broodmare carrying a foal by Behrens brought a top price of $200,000 during Saturday's session of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale.

Michael S. Brown, as agent, bought Joi's Flame, a 6-year-old broodmare by Strawberry Road out of Joi'ski Too, by Bold Bidder. Henry White, as agent for the dispersal of Disler Farm Ltd., sold the mare, an earner of $218,040 during her racing career.

Behrens' first foals are weanlings this year. He was a multiple Grade I stakes winner who earned $3.2 million during his racing career.

Lance Robinson spent $125,000, the second highest price of the day, for Unbridled Pleasure, a 3-year-old mare who is pregnant to Tale of the Cat. Rick Littrell's Viking Stud, Inc., as agent, sold the half-sister to $1.2 million earner and graded stakes winner Lottsa Talc.

Unbridled Pleasure is by Unbridled's Song out of Antilassa, by Anticipating.

During Saturday's session, Keeneland sold 262 horses for $8,312,900, an average of $31,729 and a median of $25,000. Through six days of the 10-day auction, 1,398 horses have been sold for $171,247,100, an average of $122,494 and a median of $50,000.

The sale continues through Wednesday.
