Magnier Buys Session Topper at Goffs Orby

Coolmore's John Magnier purchased the session topper at opening day of the Goffs Orby yearling sale Tuesday in Ireland, purchasing a Danzig colt for approximately $2,233,000. The colt was sold by Kilcarn Stud and is the third foal out of Alywow, Canada's Horse of the Year in 1994.
A Mr. Prospector--Alywow filly brought over $1.6 million at last year's Goff's Orby sale. Alywow's lone foal to reach the track, a 3-year-old Storm Cat filly, is currently winless from two races.
Earlier in Tuesday's session, Magnier had been the underbidder on a Darshaan--Whispered Melody filly which brought approximately $334,950. Anthony Stroud Bloodstock bought the filly for a client of Michael Jarvis. (More,
