Jon S. Kelly, owner of Tres Palomas Farm in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., has been appointed to the Thoroughbred Owners of California board of directors to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Drew Couto.

In addition to owning Tres Palomas, Kelly has business interests in broadcasting, banking, real estate, and the airlines industry. He also founded the Kelly Broadcasting Company, along with his brother Bob, and then sold the company in 1998.

"We are delighted that a person with Jon's business experience and acumen and significant commitment to Thoroughbred racing has joined our board," said Jack Owens, TOC chairman.

Kelly owned horses with his mother, Nina, in the early 1960s, and re-entered Thoroughbred ownership in 1998.
