Nasty Storm, who went through the ring at Keeneland on Tuesday, is back with trainer Dallas Stewart at Churchill Downs. Frank Stronach bought Nasty Storm for $1.075 million at the Keeneland November mixed sale, and was initially unsure if he was going to put the winner of the 2001 Churchill Downs Distaff (gr. II) back into training or send her to the breeding shed.
Nasty Storm is nominated for this year's running of the Distaff, which is part of this Saturday's card, but a decision on that has not yet been reached. She only missed five days of training for her trip to Lexington for the sale.
Stewart and Denny Crum previously owned Nasty Storm in a partnership, but consigned the 4-year-old daughter of Gulch to the sale. The filly won eight of her 22 starts for her former owners and earned $737,657.
