Perfect Story Gets Into Win Column

John Oxley's Perfect Story, a half-sister to 2001 Horse of the Year Point Given, drew off to a 3 3/4-length victory under jockey Pat Day in a maiden special weight race at Churchill Downs on Sunday in her second career start.
Second to Belle of Perintown in her maiden special weight debut on Oct. 5 at Keeneland, Perfect Story, a 1-10 favorite for trainer John Ward, held off Arrival Time in the stretch before pulling away.
The daughter of Tale of the Cat won the seven-furlong race in 1:23.61 over a fast track.
Perfect Story, a daughter of Tale of the Cat, is out of the stakes-winning Turkoman mare Turko's Turn.
Bred in Kentucky by Ironwood Farm, Perfect Story was purchased for $975,000 by Oxley from consignor Ironwood Farm at the 2000 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
