Kentucky-bred George Augustus and Irish-bred Water Poet sit atop two of the major Venezuelan sire lists, through Oct. 30. George Augustus, an Irish and German champion, leads the general sires list by progeny earnings. Water Poet, a half-brother to European champion Swain, ranks as the leading freshman sire by progeny earnings. George Augustus (El Gran Senor -- Surely Georgie's, by Alleged) and Water Poet (Sadler's Wells -- Love Smitten, by Key to the Mint) stand at Amin Saiden's Haras San Isidro in Venezuela.
