Breeders' Cup Limited and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association have released the event logo for the 20th Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003 during the Oak Tree Racing Association meeting at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.

The official event logo was created by New York-based Phoenix Design and features a gold 20th Anniversary banner across the top, which is framed by the renowned Santa Anita horse frieze of six Thoroughbreds in motion. The San Gabriel Mountains, which sit above the Santa Anita Park backstretch, dominate the center of the logo with the word Championships spread across the middle. The familiar Breeders' Cup mark sits in the center of a blue sky above the purple mountains. The words Oak Tree at Santa Anita appear at the bottom of the mountains. A black oval racetrack design runs vertically through the center of the design.

"The 2003 event logo symbolizes the celebration of our 20th anniversary running, in concert with the magnificent signature elements of Oak Tree at Santa Anita," said Breeders' Cup president D. G. Van Clief Jr. "We look forward to displaying the logo widely throughout Southern California and to our international outlets."
