2003 Preakness Logo Unveiled

The Maryland Jockey Club today unveiled the 2003 Preakness logo. The 128th running of the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), the middle jewel of the Visa Triple Crown, will be run May 17, 2003 at Pimlico Race Course.

For the fourth straight year, The Leffler Agency of Baltimore and Tampa created the design for the logo.

"Since we started with the 125th Preakness 'diamond look' with the word Preakness along the upper left border, we have sought to be cutting edge in our logo design," said Karin De Francis, Maryland Jockey Club executive vice president. "With this year's strong image of the head-on horse over the Pimlico copula, we continue that tradition."
