Trainer Bobby Frankel has a chance to hit it big twice in less than two weeks. His Starine, who scored a surprise victory in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) this past Saturday, is headed to Kentucky, where where she is scheduled to be offered next Tuesday during the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
Dr. John and Alice Chandler's Mill Ridge Sales will consign the 5-year-old daughter of Mendocino to the auction. She is hip #407. Starine is scheduled to arrive at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington on Wednesday, and she will be sent to Keeneland on Thursday.
"I never dreamed she would win the Breeders' Cup," Alice Chandler said. "We've never sold a Breeders' Cup winner before. It's going to be a lot of fun."
