Jockey Horatio Karamanos dominated the eleven-race card at Laurel Park Saturday by riding seven winners, including a pick-up mount on Eugene Ford's Lily's Affair in the $50,000 Waya Stakes.
Lily's Affair led the 1 1/16-mile test from start to finish and won by a galloping four lengths.
A native of Argentina, Karamanos was victorious in the third race aboard Tundra Road ($5.20), the fourth race atop Seattle Socialite ($10.20), the fifth race astride Lethimrun ($3.40), the sixth race on Two Times A Lady ($16), the eighth race piloting Domi Rider ($7) and the eleventh aboard Goldenalden's Card ($18.40), besides the win atop Lily's Affair ($20.60) in the Waya.
Karamanos' seven wins ties the record set by Chuck Baltazar at Laurel Park on Dec. 15, 1969.
