With approximately $100,000 in advance Breeders' Cup wagering at Arlington Park and off-site facilities in Illinois on Friday, Evening Attire emerged as a surprising lukewarm favorite for the Classic (gr. I).

Based on the Illinois betting, the only figures available and not including any out-of-state facilities, the son of Black Tie Affair was bet down to 7-2 from the morning-line odds of 8-1. Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem was at 4-1 in the early wagering and Medaglia d'Oro was 9-2.
