Keeneland Catalogs Record Number for November Sale

The November breeding stock sale at Keeneland will offer a record 5,111 horses and stallion seasons. The 13-day sale begins Nov. 5 at noon (EST), with the remaining 12 sessions beginning at 10 a.m.
Keeneland will offer 2,443 broodmares, 2,332 weanlings, 86 2-year-olds, 80 broodmare prospects, 62 racing prospects, 60 racing or broodmare prospects, 11 stallion prospects, 10 stallion seasons, six racing or stallion prospects, and 21 other horses. A year ago, Keeneland listed 4,870 horses for its November sale.
The first day of the sale features dispersals of Morven Stud Ltd. and Allen E. Paulson, and the continuing dispersals of 505 Farm and Robert and Bea Roberts. The day concludes with stallions seasons of 10 sires being auctioned with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to Grayson-Jockey Club Foundation. Those sires are A.P. Indy, Coronado's Quest, Deputy Minister, Dubai Millenium, Fusaichi Pegasus, Kingmambo, Pulpit, Seeking the Gold, Storm Cat, and Unbridled. Last year in November, Keeneland sold 3,461 horses for an industry record $317,666,000. In September, a record 3,313 horses were sold for a total of $291,827,100 at Keeneland's fall yearling sale.
