Racing at Philadelphia Park was canceled today because of rainy, windy conditions. It's unlikely that the card will be made up, said racing secretary Sal Sinatra.

"The wind gusts this morning were nearly 40 miles an hour, and that combined with the rain, an off-track, and a lot of scratches added up to a cancelation," he said. "We'll just try and make up some of the canceled races on future cards."

Today was to have been the last day of turf racing at Philadelphia. Next year, the course is scheduled for a major renovation, as it experienced excessive wear and tear this season.

Delaware Park also canceled its Wednesday race card. Live racing is scheduled to resume there on Saturday, Oct. 19.
