Watsdachances, owned by Michael Kisber, Bradley Thoroughbreds, and Nelson McMakin, made her first two starts in her native Ireland last year before transferring to the United States. Trained by Chad Brown, the Diamond Green filly promptly won the P.G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga Race Course and the Miss Grillo Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Belmont; both were at the Sands Point distance of 1 1/16 miles on grass.
Watsdachances then shipped to California for the Breeders' Cup, where she finished a strong second in the Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT). She returned to the races following a break in April at Keeneland and finished an even fourth in the Appalachian Stakes (gr. IIIT).
Javier Castellano, who has ridden the filly in all four of her U.S. starts, is named again at 120 pounds from post 4 on the inner turf course at Belmont.
The co-highweight is Sure Thing Stables' Unbelievable Dream, who won the Appalachian in her last start for trainer Barclay Tagg. The Kentucky-bred by Kitalpha is 3-for-4 with victories in maiden and allowance company.
Joel Rosario is named to ride Unbelievable Dream from post 5.
Brown and Tagg also entered Wave Theory and Caroline Thomas, respectively. The former, racing for Martin Schwartz, is graded stakes-placed and seeking her first victory against winners. The latter, owned by Joyce B. Young, is stakes-placed and comes off a fifth-place effort in the Herecomesthebride (gr. IIIT) when bumped and steadied in the stretch March 2 at Gulfstream Park.
Seven fillies were entered in the Sands Point but Fusaichiswonderful will race only if the race is transferred to the main track.
