Originally listed as a grade III event on the turf, the Oct. 11 Cliff Hanger Handicap at the Meadowlands lost its grade when it was downgraded to a listed stakes when moved from the turf to the dirt due to weather conditions. In keeping with its policy, the American Graded Stakes Committee will not reinstate its original graded status. ...The second annual Ladies Night at Hoosier Park is taking shape. The event, which showcases females in racing both on and off the track, is set for Nov. 9 featuring five races on the card dedicated to female jockeys. Headlining the list of riders is Patricia Cooksey, with Cindy Medina and Mary Doser also planning to compete along with many others. Two of the events for female jockeys will take on a different twist. One race will be limited to all-female trainers while the other race will feature all grey or roan horses.
