The Niarchos Family's Sulamani, winner of the French Derby, and a fast-closing second in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, has been sold to Godolphin, who will race the son of Hernando next year.Godolphin has also purchased the 2-year-old Seattle Slew filly Loving Kindness from the Niarchos Family and will send both horses to their Al Quoz training center in Dubai to prepare for the 2003 season."The Godolphin team is delighted that these two top horses are joining our stable and we look forward to seeing them compete in the big international races next year," racing manager Simon Crisford said.Sulamani has won four of his six career starts, with one second. He also scored victories in the Prix Niel and Prix de l'Avre. In the Arc, he rallied out in the middle of the course and missed catching Godolphin's Marienbard by three-quarters of a length.Loving Kindness has run in four races, all in France. After making a successful debut in a maiden at Maisons-Laffitte in July, she went on to win the Group Three Prix de Cabourg at Deauville on August 3 by four lengths and was then third to Elusive City at the same course in the Group One Prix Morny. She was beaten just over three lengths when unplaced behind Hold That Tiger in the Group One Grand Criterium at Longchamp on October 6. Her dam, Coup De Genie, winner of the Prix Morny and third in the 1,000 Guineas, is a full-sister to Machiavellian and Exit to Nowhere.
