Jockey Raina Covington broke her maiden as a rider in winning the first race at Meadowlands on Wednesday night. She broke the maiden for her mount, Monumental Vending, in the process. Covington is a native of Connecticut. Her winner was her ninth mount...Bally's Las Vegas will host theDaily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship Jan. 17-178, 2003. The contest features a series of handicapping tournaments around the country and winning participants from each city or racetrack will then travel to Las Vegas for the championship. A total of 51 teams of four are scheduled to compete in the Las Vegas finals, worth $212,000.
