A Dozen to Contest Raven Run

A dozen 3-year-old fillies are entered for Wednesday's $150,000 Raven Run Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland. Previous graded winners Miss Lodi and Take the Cake look to be the pair to beat in the seven-furlong contest.Miss Lodi exits the Safely Kept Stakes (gr. III) at Pimlico where she pressed the pace and drew away in the lane to win by a length for trainer Tom Amoss over fellow Raven Run runner For Rubies. Robby Albarado has the mount on Miss Lodi.Carl Nafzger, who won the Walmac International Alcibiades (gr. II) with Westerly Breeze last Friday, sends out Take the Cake. The chestnut daughter of Fly So Free won the Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park earlier this year before finishing second in the Ashland Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland behind Take Charge Lady.Take the Cake took the summer off after finishing unplaced in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I). She finished second in an Arlington Park allowance in her most recent out. Rene Douglas has the mount.Another one to watch in the Raven Run will be Wild Kandace. The filly has finished first in both of her Keeneland appearances but was disqualified from her second victory. Seven furlongs is her preferred distance and trainer Andrew McKeever has been pointing her for this race. Jesus Castanon will ride the daughter of French Deputy for the first time on Wednesday.The field for Wednesday's $150,000 Raven Run Stakes (gr.
